{"id":172,"date":"2022-03-01T07:30:16","date_gmt":"2022-03-01T07:30:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crowdsourcelawyers.com\/statutes-california-laws\/?page_id=172"},"modified":"2022-05-20T23:45:41","modified_gmt":"2022-05-20T23:45:41","slug":"pc-594-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/crowdsourcelawyers.com\/california-statutes\/california-statutes\/pc-594-2\/","title":{"rendered":"PC 594.2"},"content":{"rendered":"<section  class='av_textblock_section av-av_textblock-e878f05c31dff72941bf1e49a00d9ff5 '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Currrent as of February 4, 2022<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\" data-created_by=\"avia_inline_auto\" id=\"style-css-av-l07t8csm-2c2cdcd30b9da41be58a4c5f70759799\">\n#top .av_textblock_section.av-l07t8csm-2c2cdcd30b9da41be58a4c5f70759799 .avia_textblock{\nfont-size:19px;\n}\n<\/style>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-l07t8csm-2c2cdcd30b9da41be58a4c5f70759799 '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><h1>Penal Code \u00a7\u2002<span class=\"SS_prior SS_SH\">594.2<\/span><\/h1>\n<h2 class=\"SS_Banner\">Possession of specified instruments with intent to commit vandalism or graffiti<\/h2>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>(a)<\/strong> Every person who possesses a masonry or glass drill bit, a carbide drill bit, a glass cutter, a grinding stone, an awl, a chisel, a carbide scribe, an aerosol paint container, a felt tip marker, or any other marking substance with the intent to commit vandalism or graffiti, is guilty of a misdemeanor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(b)<\/strong> As a condition of probation for any violation of this section, the court may order the defendant to perform community service not to exceed 90 hours during a time other than his or her hours of school attendance or employment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(c)<\/strong> For the purposes of this section:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>(1)<\/strong> \u201cFelt tip marker\u201d means any broad-tipped marker pen with a tip exceeding three-eighths of one inch in width, or any similar implement containing an ink that is not water soluble.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>(2)<\/strong> \u201cMarking substance\u201d means any substance or implement, other than aerosol paint containers and felt tip markers, that could be used to draw, spray, paint, etch, or mark.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>History<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Added Stats 1993 ch 605 \u00a7 6 (AB 1179).
