class=\"subsection\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"subsection\">\n<div class=\"subsection\">\n<p>(a)\u2002Any person who personally inflicts great bodily injury on any person other than an accomplice in the commission of a felony or attempted felony shall be punished by an additional and consecutive term of imprisonment in the state prison for three years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subsection\">\n<p>(b)\u2002Any person who personally inflicts great bodily injury on any person other than an accomplice in the commission of a felony or attempted felony which causes the victim to become comatose due to brain injury or to suffer paralysis of a permanent nature\u00a0shall be punished by an additional and consecutive term of imprisonment in the state prison for five years. \u2002As used in this subdivision, \u201c<span class=\"wordphrase\">paralysis<\/span>\u201d means a major or complete loss of motor function resulting from injury to the nervous system or to a muscular mechanism.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subsection\">\n<p>(c)\u2002Any person who personally inflicts great bodily injury on a person who is 70 years of age or older, other than an accomplice, in the commission of a felony or attempted felony shall be punished by an additional and consecutive term of imprisonment in the state prison for five years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subsection\">\n<p>(d)\u2002Any person who personally inflicts great bodily injury on a child under the age of five years in the commission of a felony or attempted felony shall be punished by an additional and consecutive term of imprisonment in the state prison for four, five, or six years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subsection\">\n<p>(e)\u2002Any person who personally inflicts great bodily injury under circumstances involving domestic violence in the commission of a felony or attempted felony shall be punished by an additional and consecutive term of imprisonment in the state prison for three, four, or five years. \u2002As used in this subdivision, \u201c<span class=\"wordphrase\">domestic violence<\/span>\u201d has the meaning provided in\u00a0<span class=\"cite\">subdivision (b) of Section 13700\u00a0<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subsection\">\n<p>(f)\u2002As used in this section, \u201c<span class=\"wordphrase\">great bodily injury<\/span>\u201d means a significant or substantial physical injury.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subsection\">\n<p>(g)\u2002This section shall not apply to murder or manslaughter or a violation of\u00a0<span class=\"cite\">Section 451\u00a0<\/span>or\u00a0<span class=\"cite\">452\u00a0<\/span>. \u2002Subdivisions (a), (b), (c), and (d) shall not apply if infliction of great bodily injury is an element of the offense.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subsection\">\n<p>(h)\u2002The court shall impose the additional terms of imprisonment under either subdivision (a), (b), (c), or (d), but may not impose more than one of those terms for the same offense.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br class=\"avia-permanent-lb\" \/><br class=\"avia-permanent-lb\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a
