California Environmental Quality<em> Act: exemption.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requires a lead agency, as defined, to prepare, or cause to be prepared by contract, and certify the completion of, an environmental impact report, as defined, on a project that may have a significant effect on the environment, or to adopt a negative declaration if it finds that the project will not have that effect.<em>\u00a0The act also requires a lead agency to prepare a mitigated negative declaration for a project that may have a significant effect on the environment if revisions in the project would avoid or mitigate that effect and there is no substantial evidence that the project, as revised, would have a significant effect on the environment. CEQA exempts specified projects from its provisions.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This bill would<em> exempt from the requirements of CEQA a project for the resurfacing of a city or county park, as specified.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Vote:\u00a0majority\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Appropriation:\u00a0no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Fiscal Committee:\u00a0no\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Local Program:\u00a0no<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>SECTION 1.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Section 21080.06 is added to the Public Resources Code, to read:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>21080.06.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0This division does not apply to a project for the resurfacing of a city or county park.
