class=\"subsection\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"subsection\">\n<div class=\"subsection\">\n<p>(a)\u2002Whenever any female prisoner or prisoners are confined in any\u00a0<span class=\"added-material\">local detention facility<\/span>\u00a0in the state\u00a0there shall be\u00a0<span class=\"added-material\">an appropriately trained female custodial person assigned, available, and accessible for the supervision of the<\/span>\u00a0female\u00a0prisoners.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subsection\">\n<p>(b)\u2002It shall be unlawful for any officer, station officer,\u00a0jailer<span class=\"added-material\">, or custodial personnel<\/span>\u00a0to search the person of any prisoner of the opposite sex, or to enter into the room or cell occupied by any prisoner of the opposite sex, except in the company of\u00a0<span class=\"added-material\">an employee<\/span>\u00a0of the same sex as the prisoner. \u2002Except as provided herein, the provisions of this subdivision shall not be applied to discriminate against any\u00a0<span class=\"added-material\">employee<\/span>\u00a0by prohibiting appointment or work assignment on the basis of the sex of\u00a0<span class=\"added-material\">the employee<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>As used in this subdivision \u201c<span class=\"wordphrase\">station officer<\/span>\u201d means an unarmed civilian employee who assists a peace officer in the processing of persons who have been arrested and who performs duties including, but not limited to, booking and fingerprinting and maintaining custody and control of persons who have been arrested.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"added-material\">As used in this subdivision, \u201c<span class=\"wordphrase\">employee<\/span>\u201d means a deputy sheriff, correctional officer, custodial officer, medical staff person or designated civilian employee whose duties may include, but are not limited to, maintaining custody and control of persons who have been arrested or sentenced, or both.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br class=\"avia-permanent-lb\" \/><br class=\"avia-permanent-lb\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a
