Parsons<\/span>\u00a0(1968) 259 Cal.App.2d 298, 305 [66 Cal.Rptr. 149].) <br class=\"avia-permanent-lb\" \/><br class=\"avia-permanent-lb\" \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"SS_Note\">\n<h2 class=\"SS_HideShowSection SS_Expandable\">Sources and Authority<\/h2>\n<div id=\"TRNotes_n_3\">\n<p><span class=\"SS_ListLabel\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"SS_ListItemContent\">Evidence of Settlement.\u00a0Evidence Code section 1152(a).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"SS_ListLabel\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"SS_ListItemContent\">\u201cWhile evidence of a settlement agreement is inadmissible to prove liability, it is admissible to show bias or prejudice of an adverse party. Relevant evidence includes evidence relevant to the credibility of a witness.\u201d (<span class=\"SS_it\" data-housestyle=\"EMPHASIS_it\">Moreno v. Sayre<\/span>\u00a0(1984) 162 Cal.App.3d 116, 126 [208 Cal.Rptr. 444], internal citations omitted.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"SS_ListLabel\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"SS_ListItemContent\">\u201c[E]vidence of a plaintiff\u2019s settlement with one or more defendants is admissible at trial to prove witness bias and to prevent collusion.\u201d (<span class=\"SS_it\" data-housestyle=\"EMPHASIS_it\">Diamond v. Reshko<\/span>\u00a0(2015) 239 Cal.App.4th 828, 843 [191 Cal.Rptr.3d 438].)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"SS_ListLabel\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"SS_ListItemContent\">\u201c[A] term in a settlement agreement requiring the settling defendant to stay in the case during trial is not per se improper, but the settling defendant\u2019s position should be revealed to the court and jury to avoid committing a fraud on the court, and to permit the trier of fact to properly weigh the settling defendant\u2019s testimony.\u201d (<span class=\"SS_it\" data-housestyle=\"EMPHASIS_it\">Diamond,<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"SS_it\" data-housestyle=\"EMPHASIS_it\">supra<\/span>, 239 Cal.App.4th at p. 844.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"SS_ListLabel\">\u2022 <\/span><span class=\"SS_ListItemContent\">\u201c[T]he good faith settlement determination did not limit the trial court\u2019s authority to admit evidence of that settlement at trial.
