Certain Exhibition Vehicles<\/h2>\n<p>(a)\u2002The department shall issue specialty license plates for a passenger car, truck, motorcycle, bus, or former military vehicle that:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(1)\u2002is at least 25 years old, if the vehicle is a passenger car, truck, motorcycle, or bus;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(2)\u2002is a collector&#8217;s item;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(3)\u2002is used exclusively for exhibitions, club activities, parades, and other functions of public interest and is not used for regular transportation; \u2009and<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(4)\u2002does not carry advertising.<\/p>\n<p>(b)\u2002The license plates must include the words \u201cAntique Auto,\u201d \u201cAntique Truck,\u201d \u201cAntique Motorcycle,\u201d \u201cAntique Bus,\u201d or \u201cMilitary Vehicle,\u201d as appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>(c)\u2002A person eligible for the license plates may instead use license plates that are:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(1)\u2002embossed with an alphanumeric pattern;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(2)\u2002of a plate design that was issued by this state in the same year as the model year of the vehicle , provided that a passenger car must bear passenger car or truck license plates and a truck must bear passenger car or truck license plates; \u2009and<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(3)\u2002approved for use by the department.<\/p>\n<p>(c-1)\u2002The department may require attachment of a registration insignia to a license plate described by Subsection (c) in a manner that does not affect the display of information originally on the license plate.<\/p>\n<p>(d)\u2002License plates issued or approved under this section expire on the fifth anniversary of the date of issuance or approval.<\/p>\n<p>(e)\u2002The fee for issuance or approval of license plates under this section is:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(1)\u2002$10 for each year or portion of a year remaining in the five-year registration period if the vehicle was manufactured in 1921 or later; \u2009or<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(2)\u2002$8 for each year or portion of a year remaining in the five-year registration period if the vehicle was manufactured before 1921.<\/p>\n<p>(f)\u2002The department may exempt a former military vehicle from the requirement to display a license plate or registration insignia if the exemption is necessary to maintain the vehicle&#8217;s accurate military markings. \u2002The department may approve an alternative registration insignia that is compatible with the vehicle&#8217;s original markings.<\/p>\n<p>(g)\u2002A person entitled to specialty license plates or to department approval under this section may register the vehicle without payment of any fees paid for or at the time of registration except the fee for the license plate.<\/p>\n<p>(h)\u2002Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a vehicle issued license plates under Subsection (a) shall be required to attach and display only one license plate on the rear of the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>(i)\u2002In this section, \u201cformer military vehicle\u201d means a vehicle, including a trailer, regardless of the vehicle&#8217;s size, weight, or year of manufacture, that:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(1)\u2002was manufactured for use in any country&#8217;s military forces;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(2)\u2002is maintained to represent its military design and markings accurately; \u2009and<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(3)\u2002is not operated on continuous tracks.<\/p>\n<p>(j)\u2002Repealed by Acts 2011, 82nd Leg., ch. 1296 (H.B. 2357), \u00a7\u2002247(16).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/crowdsourcelawyers.com\/\">CrowdSourceLawyers.com<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-1916","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.8 -
