Unlawful Restraint of Dog<\/h2>\n<p>(a)\u2002An owner may not leave a dog outside and unattended by use of a restraint that unreasonably limits the dog&#8217;s movement:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(1)\u2002between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(2)\u2002within 500 feet of the premises of a school; \u2009or<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(3)\u2002in the case of extreme weather conditions, including conditions in which:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px\">(A)\u2002the actual or effective outdoor temperature is below 32 degrees Fahrenheit;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px\">(B)\u2002a heat advisory has been issued by a local or state authority or jurisdiction; \u2009or<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px\">(C)\u2002a hurricane, tropical storm, or tornado warning has been issued for the jurisdiction by the National Weather Service.<\/p>\n<p>(b)\u2002In this section, a restraint unreasonably limits a dog&#8217;s movement if the restraint:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(1)\u2002uses a collar that is pinch-type, prong-type, or choke-type or that is not properly fitted to the dog;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(2)\u2002is a length shorter than the greater of:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px\">(A)\u2002five times the length of the dog, as measured from the tip of the dog&#8217;s nose to the base of the dog&#8217;s tail; \u2009or<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px\">(B)\u200210 feet;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(3)\u2002is in an unsafe condition; \u2009or<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">(4)\u2002causes injury to the dog.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/crowdsourcelawyers.com\/\">CrowdSourceLawyers.com<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-521","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.6 -
